- Steelhead – Spring –
prime time usually starts around the first of March and goes through
the first of May (depending on the river and weather). Fall
– usually starts around the first of October cranks up
(they’re chrome & aggressive) for the next 30 days, and
November/December are a MUST for any serious Steelheader. Summer –
these fish are a bit tougher to predict as to when they’ll show up.
The Joe and the Manistee are your best rivers for the most
opportunities. Stay in touch with WDO to hit the summer run

- Salmon – Fall – Though Flies can
be effective in August, casting hardware is the way to go on the PM
or Manistee river. As September kicks in, so do the
opportunities for the fly guys. For those of you who are interested
in
more conventional methods, WDO has several exciting and effective
ways to do battle with the fall run warriors "THE CHINOOK"! The season winds down
on the Muskegon around the third or fourth week of October.
